Baking Santa's Cookies

This morning I have been busy in the kitchen baking! I'm not a very good baker, like Miss Ouano is, but I love eating it! Luckily for me, Noah and his lovely mum gave me a ready-to-bake jar of Santa's Cookies at the end of last year. Thanks so much Noah and Shannon! They are absolutely delicious! Here's what they look like.

2014 - The Busiest Year Yet

School has closed and we are now all on our summer holidays. It has been such a busy and wonderful year with Class 13. We have all learnt a great deal together, and had so much fun along the way.

It was very sad to say goodbye on Wednesday, our last day of school. We said goodbye not only to each other, but to the lovely Mrs O'Neill who has spent time in our classroom this year. We hope you come back and see us next year.

Congratulations to all the students of Class 13 for an incredible year. You all made fantastic progress in your learning, and you also grew up a lot too. A special congratulations must go to our prizewinners:

  • Atareita, Paige and Mitchell for their academic awards
  • Samoa for citizenship
  • John for effort
  • Noah and Simon for performing arts

Also, well done to Ajani, Noah and Mitchell for being selected by Mr Burt to be school photographers for 2014.

Have a safe and happy holiday, and I'll see you all next year!

Michael Jackson

A couple of weeks ago, three boys from Class 13 performed a Michael Jackson dance for the whole school at assembly. They worked very hard on their moves and looked incredible! Well done, Simon, Ajani and Noah, from all of us in Class 13! You made us proud!

Purple Cake Day

For the past two weeks, we have been learning about Haiti. The children in Class 13 have made presentations, writting explanations, designed flags and read articles about Haiti. This afternoon we had a Purple Cake Day to celebrate what we have, and to think about children in Haiti - some of whom are not able to go to school.

We dressed up in purple, had purple food, listened to our favourite songs, made purple crafts and got our faces painted by Ajani's mum. It was fabulous!

Playdough Maths!

This is what one group did in their maths rotation today. They used the playdough that the boys made on Monday to show what they are learning.

A moment in time...

Man I had a magnificent and spectacular holiday at Matarangi!

It was awesome! We went to go fishing. I had prickles on my feet and it was hurting like when I eat green Kiwifruit it feels like pins and needles on my tongue, but it is really just hair.

Do you know how hot it was? It was so hot that it felt like I was in the desert.

Magnificent right?
