2014 - The Busiest Year Yet

School has closed and we are now all on our summer holidays. It has been such a busy and wonderful year with Class 13. We have all learnt a great deal together, and had so much fun along the way.

It was very sad to say goodbye on Wednesday, our last day of school. We said goodbye not only to each other, but to the lovely Mrs O'Neill who has spent time in our classroom this year. We hope you come back and see us next year.

Congratulations to all the students of Class 13 for an incredible year. You all made fantastic progress in your learning, and you also grew up a lot too. A special congratulations must go to our prizewinners:

  • Atareita, Paige and Mitchell for their academic awards
  • Samoa for citizenship
  • John for effort
  • Noah and Simon for performing arts

Also, well done to Ajani, Noah and Mitchell for being selected by Mr Burt to be school photographers for 2014.

Have a safe and happy holiday, and I'll see you all next year!

Michael Jackson

A couple of weeks ago, three boys from Class 13 performed a Michael Jackson dance for the whole school at assembly. They worked very hard on their moves and looked incredible! Well done, Simon, Ajani and Noah, from all of us in Class 13! You made us proud!

Purple Cake Day

For the past two weeks, we have been learning about Haiti. The children in Class 13 have made presentations, writting explanations, designed flags and read articles about Haiti. This afternoon we had a Purple Cake Day to celebrate what we have, and to think about children in Haiti - some of whom are not able to go to school.

We dressed up in purple, had purple food, listened to our favourite songs, made purple crafts and got our faces painted by Ajani's mum. It was fabulous!

Ajani Pakalani

Once upon a time there was three different sized bears and a little girl called Goldilocks. When the three different sized bears woke up they had a try of their breakfast which was porridge. They tried the porridge and it was too hot so they went out to the forest to wait for it to cool down.

After a little while Goldilocks arrived and saw the delicious porridge and suddenly she felt hungry and she tried one of the bear's and it was too big and when she tried to pick up the spoon it was heavy and she tried the soup but it was too hot.

After that she tried the middle sized chair but it was too soft she nearly fell asleep so she went to the little chair but this time she sat on it the chair broke into pieces.
She felt sleepy and went downstairs and found beds. One was big and she couldn't climb in the bed because it was too huge so she went to another bed  and it was just fine and she fell asleep.

Suddenly the bears came back and saw that somebody had been in the house and came in the house and saw their porridge was used and went downstairs and screamed and freaked out because the bears saw that somebody was using their beds and Goldilocks woke up and screamed like the bears and ran away.

The End.

"Will I Am" by Ajani Pakalani

Once upon a time there was a boy called Will I Am who only had a mother and when William got older his mother raised her kids and lost Will.i.am. He was supposed to go to jail now but music and singing saved him and that's when he found new friends. Their dreams were to sing and they did, and they made a crew called the Black Eyed Peas and they became famous.

So the Black Eyed Peas got older and they came over to Pt England and talked to them how to be famous...

The Point England Way

Here are some of our self portraits that we created for our Inquiry topic - The Point England Way. They are up on the wall outside our classroom if you want to come and see the real versions!
