The Treaty of Waitangi by Nyree and Room 10

The Treaty of Waitangi.

The Treaty was a piece of paper that people signed. It is extremely old. It was signed in 1840 by British Crown and the Maori Chiefs. They were trying to work out how to look after and share New Zealand.

The paper that the Treaty is on is very old, damaged and ripped.

The Treaty is an agreement between the British Crown and the Maori people.

"Snow White" by Samoa

The gardens smell beautiful and makes me fall in love. The castle has turrets and the rooms smell nice like perfume. The mirror is so magical that you can hear the mirror talking to me.

The castle is beautiful like a clean house. It smells like fragrant roses from the plug in air freshener. The rooms are comfortable and quiet like the underwater world. It has turrets reaching up to the sky.

The magical mirror that can talk to the queen his gold on the outside, but in the inside it is moudy and yuck!

"Swimming" by Roimata

On a brilliant day Room 10 went to the pools to do swimming lessons.

When I put my foot inside the water it felt like a warm extraordinary deep water. I went first. I had to lie flat on my tummy. I put my head up and looked at the light that came inside my eyes. When I looked down I saw my reflection on the water. When I jumped inside the pool I hit my hand in the water. It felt like my hand was burning.

The lady told me to go in line there because I was so good at what I had done. When I went to the island I stood on it. It felt like a bouncy castle. When I jumped on it it felt like a bouncy teddy bear.

"Snow White" by Russell

Once upon a time in a castle there lived a bad witch. She was looking at a magical mirror and she wished for a bad daughter.
Out of the door the gardeners protected the bad witch. If the good people came to the castle the gardeners would kill them because they didn't know who they were.

Dr Seuss and his made up words

We read some Dr Seuss stories the other day then tried to make up some crazy words for our stories. Here is what Desmond came up with...

"The pool was hubungously deep and the water slide was hunungously high. The water was a bubbly guggle duggle of fizzy foam."
By Desmond

"New York City" by Angel and Lanzie

New York City has a few magnificent sky scrapers which look like alien fingers. There are bright shiny lights and they sparkle and glow in the dark night.

"The Volcano" by Leni

The volcano had angry bubbling lava. It was burning hot like a firey explosion. The massive boulders were crumbling down the shaky volcano. The rocks were burning in the angry lava. The sun felt like the burning lava.

What have we been up to recently?

School Picnic

A couple of weeks ago, we went to the beach and had a school picnic! It was a wonderful day as we had loads of families join us and the children spent the day playing sport, making sand castles, swimming and playing on the playground.
Thanks to all the families who came to support us!
